Installing the straight rod assembly

Open the links on the straight rod assemblies (D) using the
wrench.
Hang the straight rod assembly (D) links from the loops of the
lamp plate (B) and tighten with a wrench.
Hang the decorative frame (F) from the bottom of the straight
rod assemblies (D).

Installation
Wrap electrical tape (not included) around the wire
connectors (BB), and ensure they are secure.
Raise the canopy (A) up to the outlet box.
Secure the canopy (A) to the mounting bracket
assembly (CC) using the decorative nuts (DD) provided.
Push all excess wire and wire connections back
into the outlet box.
Adjust the length of the mounting bracket assembly (CC)
studs and hex nuts if necessary.

Make sure the power is off.
Pull the supply wires down out of the outlet box.
Attach the mounting bracket assembly (CC) to the existing
outlet box with the outlet box screws (AA) provided.

Installing the long threaded rod
assembly and the lamp plate
Weave the xture wires up through the chain assembly
(I) links, and then up through the canopy assembly (A).

Attaching the canopy assembly to
the long threaded rod assembly
Open the link on the chain assembly (I) and
hang it from the loop on the canopy assembly (A).
Place the lamp plate (B) onto the long threaded
rod assembly (C).
Screw the canopy assembly loop (A) and the long
threaded rod assembly (C) together.
Secure the long threaded rod assembly (C) to
the fabric shade assembly (G).

Installing the diffuser and the decorative
frame
Secure the diffuser (H) to the short threaded rod assembly
(E) using the diffuser nut (EE).
Place the decorative frame (F) over the fabric shade
assembly (G) and clip it in place.

Attach the ground wire from the outlet box to the ground
screw on the mounting bracket (CC), which is green and
marked "GND".
Remove the pre-assembled decorative nuts (DD)
from the mounting bracket assembly (CC).

This xture is intended to be mounted to a 4 in.
square x 2-1/8 in. deep metal octagon outlet box.
The box must be directly supported by the
building structure.
CAUTION: Keep the lamp away from
materials that may burn.
CAUTION: Turn off/unplug the light and
allow it to cool before replacing the bulb.
WARNING: Do not install this lighting
system in a wet location.
Care and Cleaning
To clean the xture, rst disconnect the power to the xture by turning off the circuit breaker or by
removing the fuse at the fuse box.
CAUTION: Do not use chemical solvents or harsh
abrasives to clean the xture or components, as damage
may occur.
Use a dry or slightly dampened, clean cloth (use clean water, never use a solvent) to wipe the
interior and exterior surfaces of the xture.
Allow the xture to dry completely before power is restored.
All electrical connections must be in accordance
with local codes and the National Electrical Code.
If you are unfamiliar with methods of installing
electrical wiring, secure the services of a
qualied licensed electrician.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The light bulb will not
illuminate.
The light bulb is burned
out.
Replace the light bulb.
The power is off.
Make sure the power supply is on.
There is a faulty wire
connection.
Check the wiring.
Contact a quali
ed and licensed
electrician if you are not comfortable
troubleshooting wiring problems.
There is a faulty switch.
Test or replace the switch.
There are crossed wires,
or the power wire is not
properly grounded.
Check the wire connections.
The fuse blows or the circuit
breaker trips when the light bulb
is illuminated.
Connect the negative wires (raised ribs without writing)
from the xture to the negative wires from the supply
circuit, the positive wires (smooth with writing) from the
xture to the positive wires from the supply circuit, and the
ground wire (bare) from the xture to the ground wire from
the supply circuit using the wire connectors (BB).
CAUTION: Refer to the re-lamping label located on
the xture. Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
